Stonne

The French village of Stonne saw some of the heaviest fighting during the Battle of France with the village changing hands many times during the course of the fighting between 15th and 17th May 1940 and fighting continued in the Stonne area until 25th May 1940.

My photos start with a couple of Then and Now photos of a disabled PzKpfw IV,  a view from Pain de Sucre, the only road into the village showing the “blind” bend into the village and finally the various memorials.
